Frequently asked questions.

Physical Therapy Appointment Questions

Where do I start?

First, take a look through our services page to make sure we are the right fit for you. If you are currently pregnant or recently had a baby, then check out our pregnancy and postpartum page to look at your options for treatment. If you are looking for physical therapy services, your first step will be scheduling an initial consultation to start your journey with us.

What will my first physical therapy session look like?

Your first visit will be 75 minutes in length. After you schedule your appointment, you will receive an email with forms to complete online through your Jane (online scheduling system) account. Completing these prior to the first appointment date and time will allow more time for you and your therapist to spend together. Please arrive on time. Upon your arrival, you will sit down with your therapist to discuss relevant medical history information, and answer questions pertaining to your chief complaint for the physical therapist to gain an understanding of your concerns and goals.

What should I wear?

Wear clothes that are easy to move around in. If your primary area of concern is your neck, shoulder, or upper back, please have a sports bra or tank top. If your primary area of concern is your low back, hips, or legs, please wear shorts or have some to change into. Having active and comfortable shoes to move around in may be necessary and would be a good idea to wear on the first day.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

You will not need much on the first visit if you have completed your paperwork online. You may want to bring a change of clothes if you are unable to wear comfortable clothes prior to your appointment time. If you do not submit a credit card or FSA/HSA card on your Jane profile when scheduling, please bring with you to pay at the end of your appointment.

How long are the physical therapy appointments?

Initial Consultation - 75 minutes

Follow up Treatment - 50 minutes

Wellness Assessment - 25 minutes

**These are the same for in person and virtual appointments**

How do I schedule an appointment?

Go to our online scheduling page and create a login to Jane. If this is your first appointment, you will schedule an initial consultation if you are looking for a full length visit at 75 minutes. If you want short wellness visit, then you will find the shortened visit at 25 minutes. The online system will take you through all the steps necessary to confirm your appointment. Having trouble? Contact us with any questions you may have.

What are your hours?

Monday through Thursday 9 am - 4 pm. Outside hours are flexible to meet your needs. If you are unable to find a time on our schedule, please contact us and we will find a time that works for you.

Where do you see clients?

In person sessions take place in the private therapy studio in Dr. Lisa’s home. On a case-by-case basis, Dr. Lisa can travel to your home. We also offer virtual options for your convenience.

Do I need a referral or prescription from a medical doctor to come to PT?

No.

In the state of Indiana, you are able to be treated for “no more than 42 calendar days beginning with the date of the initiation of treatment without a referral. If additional treatment is needed, the PT shall obtain a referral from the individual’s provider (physician, podiatrist, psychologist, chiropractor, dentist, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant).” - APTA Indiana

I noticed you specialize in pelvic health - do you offer internal work?

No, our specialty area in pelvic health is exclusively external treatment. Most conditions respond to external treatment; in the cases where internal treatment is needed, the appropriate referral will be made.

What is your cancellation policy?

A cancellation made prior to 24 hours from the scheduled appointment time will not result in a charge. Appointments that are cancelled within 24 hours, and not rescheduled within 1 week of the original appointment date, will result in a $25 charge to the card on your Jane profile.

Payment Questions

What are your prices?

Initial Consultation - 75 minutes - $160

Follow Up Treatment - 50 minutes - $85

Acute Injury/Wellness Check - 25 minutes - $40

Can I pay online?

Yes. Once you create a login on Jane then you will be able to save a credit card, HSA, FSA, or debit card onto your profile for easy checkout.

How can I pay?

All of our services are self pay with the payment due at the time of service. All physical therapy services are due at the time of scheduled appointment while the fitness programs and workshops will be paid up front for total cost of service.

We accept debit cards, credit cards, HSA, FSA, check, or cash.

Do you accept insurance?

No. Our practice is cash-based only. We do offer a Superbill for those clients wanting to be reimbursed through their health insurance by “out of network” services, with the exception of Medicare and Medicaid. If you have either of these insurances, you are able to seek wellness services but not physical therapy.

Why do you not take insurance?

Cash-based physical therapy gives the freedom to the client and provider to make decisions based on the needs of the client, rather than within the constraints put on treatment by the insurance companies. The client and provider enter into a contract similar to that of an insurance-based physical therapy clinic with the same documentation with all legal requirements met.

I found out my insurance reimburses for out of network PT services - how can I do this?

Let your physical therapist know you are wanting to be reimbursed through your insurance - this is just a small extra step in our documentation. Once you have completed your visit, you will receive an email with a “Superbill” that explains the services rendered. If you lose this email, you will be able to access billing and other documents on your Jane profile.
